Starting point of this tour is Polače bay, and later exploration of the two salty water lakes, which are the most important part of our small trip.
As one of the most appealing harbours in the national park and a popular destination for numerous sailors, we have selected Polače as the starting point for our tours.
We will begin our small excursion through the national park with a warm welcome and a brief introduction by your guide. The first and most challenging ascent will demonstrate the ease of cycling with our e-bikes, transforming this activity into a genuine pleasure, especially on hot summer days.
Upon reaching the national park entrance, we will take a quick break to share some general facts about the island of Mljet. Then, we will proceed on a breathtaking ride around the Great Lake.
This leisurely journey through scenic, winding paths, shaded by Aleppo pine trees, takes us past all the important landmarks around the Great and Small Lakes. Several stops along the way will serve for short breaks and to provide additional information about our surroundings.
Once we reach the closest point to the islet of St. Mary, we will stow our bikes away and embark on a brief boat ride to the islet. A stroll around the Benedictine monastery, coupled with our guide’s vivid storytelling – will take you on a detour into the ancient times when this monastery thrived. With this mini-walking tour, we will conclude our visit to the islet – and get back to the active part of the tour.
We continue cycling towards the Great Bridge, and according to your preferences, we either finish the tour in a full circle (crossing the bridge) or return retracing our path.
Whatever you opt out for, we can then boast of completing the most alluring 15-kilometre bike ride in the Adriatic.
